A couple of months ago I met Mauro & Chelsea DeBenedetto. They walked into one of our event at Two Cities Church and had no previous connection to anyone a part of our team. Today they are two of our worship leaders who made their Two Cities debut at our Night of Worship in June. They have just finished recording two singles with Joel Piper. [samples below] They have become great friends with several people on our team and are a part of our Wednesday night Launch Group. Mauro was recently hired full-time to work under Chris at signingtrac.com. Four12 Group is creating a video for their kickstarter campaign, which will be live soon. They hope to raise the cash necessary to record the rest of their album through the generosity of family, friends and strangers. I’ll post the kickstarter information when it goes live. But right now… you just need to press play.

A worship leader and friend from North Point Music has released a free single on noisetrade called Hallelujah (Hope for Hallie). You can download the song for free here: http://noisetrade.com/caseydarnell. The following description was written by Casey explaining the song. If this doesn’t wreck you… I don’t know what will.
In June 2011, Chris & Katie Green received news that no expecting parent wants to hear. Their baby would be the 1 in 16,000 that has Trisomy 13, a fatal chromosomal abnormality. This began a journey of hope & heartbreak until December 19, when Hallie Lynn Green beat the odds & was born!
Though the road would be hard, the Green’s faith in God’s bigger purposes held strong. Because of this, their journey was shared with tens of thousands on their blog, becoming a source of hope & encouragement for others during the Christmas season.
On Christmas Eve 2011, Hallie left the safety of her mother’s arms to be in the arms of Jesus. This song “Hallelujah” was inspired by her life & their journey. Hallie is short for “Hallelujah,” meaning “Praise the Lord.”
Proceeds from your donation go to Katie’s not-for-profit org called “Hope From Hallie,” helping moms who lose their babies, create lasting memories by providing custom, unique jewelry of their baby’s hand-, foot-, or finger-prints.
I can’t even imagine what it feels like to lose a child, especially so young. But the hope the Green family has is beyond measure and I praise God for people like them who truly shine in our world.
Thanks for sharing Casey.
I’ve got a friend, Paul Haugen.
I’ve known Paul since I was a sophomore at Clovis West High School.
We were in a boy band together for a little bit. (YouTube wasn’t around yet, and I’m glad)
Paul moved his family to Santa Rosa, Ca in January of ’11.
Paul is moving his family back to Fresno on August 1.
Paul is moving to help us plant Two Cities Church.
Two Cities Church can not pay Paul yet.
Paul is taking a huge leap of faith.
Paul needs a job to provide for his family of 4.
Paul is also a fantastic worship leader.
Paul has Sundays and evenings open to lead worship at your church or ministry.
Paul also loves to take pop music and create acoustic covers of those songs to play in otherl venues.
I recommend him for churches, parties, grand-openings, fundraisers, background music, and anything else where you’d like live-music for either a Christian, Non-Profit, Venue or Corporate Business environment.
Book him now!
Here’s a sampling of his talent.
You can book him by going to his website and clicking on the music tab. Here’s the direct link.
Some familiar faces around New Vintage Church released a new music video…
Josiah got a little drum for Christmas and he gave us the gift of headaches.
My good friends Mercy Fists (soon to be called Mercy Fist)
I love these guys.
They mean what they sing.
Last Friday we (New Vintage Church) did something different.
We did created a Pre-Foyer Event for people to invite their “I’m not going to church with you” friends.
If you don’t know what I mean by Pre-Foyer, it’s simple.
Our strategy is 3-fold Foyer-Living Room-Kitchen.
Foyer- Weekend Services, designed with the Guest In Mind
Living Room- Strategic Service Teams, MarriedLife Live, etc. A place to become friends.
Kitchen- Community Groups, a place to become family.
So, what did we do?
We had a wine-tasting / concert event.
We didn’t give a gospel presentation.
We didn’t have a sermon.
We had a wide-range of pop and rock music that is currently or has been top 40 on the radio.
It’s all recognizable and it’s stuff we’ve done as openers or tension builders in our services.
It was a smash-hit.
I didn’t recognize half the people in the room.
Here are two videos I took from my iPhone 4s (camera is pretty good eh?).
What are you doing to engage the friends of the people who attend your church?
