I will never look at the Streets of San Francisco the same.

hope and a future

A couple of weeks ago we decided to go on a double date into “the city,” San Francisco.
We left the kids behind, with some trusted friends, and took off down the 101.
We parked under Union Square and waited for a table at the Cheesecake Factory for over two hours.
Regardless of the wait, it was fun to get out and have some fun with some friends.

This time of year causes a lot of stress on people and it’s important to slow down.
You’ve got to take some time for yourself and breathe.
There will be enough worries and stressors to come with the new year ringing in.
The economy may tank further, more people may occupy things and difficult times are most likely ahead…
Not uplifting to you?

This should be:

11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

– Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

And if that’s not enough, just take a look at the people you love who are around you and be thankful as we celebrate the birth of Jesus this month… be thankful for everything God has given to you, including freedom in Christ.

Giants Game

We went to a Giants game (vs Dodgers) this past Monday. Even though the Giants lost, miserably. I was there for the historic Giants/Dodgers “Respect our Rivalry” speech. I’ll be able to tell my grandkids that.

Paul, Jenn, Grace and soon-to-be-born Baby Haugen have moved to Santa Rosa to work with New Vintage Church in building God’s Kingdom in NorCal. Here’s a little insight into Paul’s personality. Fun guy.

Background.
We went to High School together.
We were in a boy band together.
Our lives have been intertwined.
He’s a great man of God with a great sense of humor.
I encourage you to get to know him and his family.
Also, his baby is due on this Sunday.

Recently, Erica and I went to San Francisco for the day. We were celebrating our anniversary. We came across this and I thought it was funny. So LOL with me.

Vacation // Day 1

Today we dropped Cooper off on our way out of town (thanks Wende) and hit the road. We headed south down the 101 through San Francisco. We stopped in Los Gatos for lunch at Mr. Pickles, great little gem, you should go there sometime. Then on to Santa Cruz where we walked the Boardwalk, beach and pier. Then we headed on to Monterey and checked into our little Days Inn hotel (they have free wifi, a must in a hotel pick). We took an hour to chill and then went down to the Monterey Warf to eat some fish ‘n chips and clam chowder. It was good. The funny things is that we ran into a girl who was a part of the Student Ministry at our old church in Fresno. Crazy how a festival like Spirit West Coast will bring Christians from all over flocking to one spot on the coast. Here are some pictures from our first day:photo 3
